Trailer -- day five
Topic: Trailer

Location: Rob and Barb's apartment, Studio City

Geek day.

At least, that's what I called it. For Rob and I, two big ol' fanboys of horror and sci-fi, working with Edwin Craig was an event. For those of you who actually have a life, Edwin played Rotelli in Tim Burton's original Batman movie. He says "And what's with that stupid grin?" (no, I didn't have to look that up) and gets fried by The Joker's hand buzzer, at which Joker says "You're a vicious bastard, Rotelli. I'm glad you're dead." No, I didn't have to look that up, either. Ugh.

The Starway Pictures slave drivers decided to drag everyone onto set in the wee hours of Noon. Don't they realize that Michael Caruso needs his beauty sleep? They're heartless, I tell you.

We shot everything in one area, on the top floor of Rob's apartment building. Seth and Drake were the stars today, while they unveiled the need for family and the evils of Drake. Michael and Edwin played off each other like pros and we got some great dialogue for the trailer.

Except for a ten minute break while the gardeners washed the floor and watered the flowers, the shoot went off without a hitch. For now, Seth and Drake are overlooking the landscape of Studio City. But once Rob gets done with it in post production, they'll be overlooking a metropolitan city, essentially turning Rob's three level apartment building into a high rise penthouse. Similar to what he did for his short Expired, but much more ambitious and time consuming.

Shortest day of the shoot so far, at only about 10.5 hours. Tomorrow will be longer, but much more fun due to the action and violence involved.
